When William died he left thousands of pages of written material, hundreds of hours of cassette and video tape. If you knew William, you'll know the depth of his knowledge and our hope to capture a fragment of that information. The process of preserving and publishing this legacy is ongoing. In this space, the Archive will be making available some audio and video material from William's years with us. Proceeds from the sale of this material go directly to supporting future publication of William's work, and it is our only source of income. Thank you for your support! |

This seminar was given in Massachusetts and is one of three Herbwalks we have in the Archive. It documents William teaching where he most liked to be: camping in the forest, among the Green Ones. There are some indoor sessions, some outdoors, and (thank you Ann Mooney) even a lunchtime dialog. The discs are Archival Audio, including one session during a thunderstorm. Great ambiance. The protective “bookshelf” case includes extensive notes on topics discussed, making location of material for later reference as simple as using a book index. (See excerpts below…) There are two fragments of William's “Manhole Cover” paintings on the case, and a photo from the year of the seminar. The discs themselves are abstracted versions of the manhole covers, through which to go… deeper… We've had to raise the price of these sets slightly, with the experience of the first round of shipping, etc. Still a bargain, and still all volunteer. Our goal is simply to get the information out into the world.

CD15-Part One Lectures January 2002, NYC CDs 1 thru 6 / 6 hrs, 10 min. $55 for the full set. CD15-Part Two Lectures January 2002, NYC CDs 7 thru 12 / 6 hrs, 43 min. $55 for the full set. 13 HOURS TOTAL, Parts 1 & 2. Average disc time: 1 hr, 4 min. Shipping/Handling, flat fee of $10 to continental US, $15 to Canada/AK/HI, and $20 elsewhere. NY/NJ addresses will have Sales Tax added. PAYMENT IS THROUGH PAYPAL, where you can use any credit card. This seminar begins the last series that William taught, sharing the rich amalgam of his 30 years accumulated wealth of knowledge with an intimate group of students in New York. The discs are Archival Audio, recorded “rough in the field”, capturing William's style and wit in free-ranging discussions and lectures. We have enhanced the recordings somewhat and added brief musical grace-notes to improve continuity between tapes, or when gaps resulted from tape-to-digital transfer. The protective "bookshelf" case includes extensive notes on topics discussed, making location of material for later reference as simple as using a book index. (See excerpts below…) There are two fragments of William's “Manhole Cover” paintings on the cover, and as our offerings progress we'll be using photos of William keyed in time to the Audio within. The discs themselves are abstracted versions of the manhole covers, many little black-and-white plates, through which to go… deeper….. |
